Well, he DID apologize*

*With an explanation that what he said was contextually not what he meant.

Personally, I think he said what he meant and meant what he said. He got his lick in without really having to take responsibility for it.

There is an orchestrated effort on the religious right to utilize this issue, and Bush has latched onto it. You will not see Bush distancing himself from it in any meaningful away.

I hardly see any shock value from the fact that a southern evangilist who is as far right as humanly possible would say this.
    <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">You aren't serious. Are you?

He's a "religious" leader. He speaks "God's" word. He's nationally televised. People believe in him, and send him millions of their dollars.

Trust me. A "minister of God" saying something like this (even with apology) gives plenty of people the green light to go out and bash a fag.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">They do that in the UK all the time and don't need no "minister of God"

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Exactly. It's one of the rove top ten dirty tricks. You see it used time and time again by the scum in the bush camp.

Let's see now, what does Dick Cheney say about gay people?

At least in this administration there is one key person who recognizes that gay people are somebody's loved child.

Jimmy Swaggart - hmmmm, let's see. Not that I claim to speak for Him, but I understand that the Christian God (post Christ, of course) is a loving and forgiving God. I imagine he would be a heck of a lot more forgiving of a man who looked lustfully upon another man than he would be of a man who "kilt a man jest for lookin' at him funny".

Jimmy Swaggart is an ignorant poltroon.
